We’re reaching the end of our #Goals series, and I want to touch back on something I said in my very first post…   “A resolution isn’t enough to effect real change in your life.” [bctt tweet="A resolution isn’t enough to effect real change in your life." username="dukematlock"] This is why I encouraged you to set goals. Because when you set a goal, you also develop a plan to get you across that finish line.   Entrepreneur published an article last year, documenting the research behind the effectiveness of small, daily “wins.” We can create great momentum when we focus on everyday progress.   I’ve stressed the importance of setting small, specific goals in my past posts for that very reason. It allows you to focus less on the overarching pressure of “getting healthy” or “becoming successful” and more on creating new, good habits. Because habits do have the ability to help effect real change in your life.   The truth is, daily growth begins with your habits. And the smaller growth you achieve on a daily basis will bring you one step closer to achieving the big successes you’re aiming for. [bctt tweet="Daily growth begins with your habits." username="dukematlock"] Dictionary.com says a habit is “an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.” In other words, they’re behavior patterns. And they’re so integrated into our daily lives that they become involuntary.   Going on a daily walk may not feel like it’s making much of a dent in your goal to be healthier… but integrating physical activity into your schedule every day will pay off in the long run!   If you haven’t already, I’d encourage you to break down each of your goals into daily habits you want to build upon every day… and take note of your progress over time! As you make these habits a part of your daily routine, your growth will become an unavoidable consequence of them.   So now my question for you is, Are you ready to be the best version of yourself in 2017?
