We’re always searching for the 10 step plan to improve our life, or the newest ways to bio-hack our lives, but in the midst of our constant search to improve our lives, we end up getting caught up in the hamster wheel of striving, which in the end, does the opposite of improving our lives and leaves us more exhausted. But there are some simple things we can add/take away in our lives that will improve our quality of life, that don’t involve taking another course, buying another self-help book, or making drastic changes in our lives. In today’s article, I’m going to break down what I believe are the 3 best ways to improve your life.

Health + Fitness

According to this article, it says “people who sit for eight hours a day with no physical activity have the same risk of dying similar to someone who smokes or is obese. Sedentary jobs in America have increased more than 83% since 1953, according to the American Heart Association. According to the same survey, only 20% of Americans have physically active jobs. The average office worker actually sits 15 hours a day.”

How can you fix this problem to improve your life? Take breaks every 30 minutes or so to walk around the office, take phone calls while standing, and set aside 30 minutes minimum to work out daily. Whether that’s walking, running, or going to the gym, aim for at least 30 minutes of movement.

Small changes can lead to massive improvement in your overall quality of life and health.

Another way you can make a small change is by packing your lunch/cooking your meals and limiting eating out. Not only will this save money, but it will allow you to make healthier choices which will give you more energy throughout your daily life and tasks.

Digital Detox

If you really want to improve your quality of life, eliminate stress, and remove distractions, try implementing a digital detox. How? By taking time each day, or once a week to turn your phone off. If you can’t completely turn your phone off, at least turn off social media. We weren’t meant to process the amount of information we take in on the daily basis. Just like our bodies need a good detox every now and then, so do our minds.

Invest in relationships

Lastly, invest in people. Cultivating and investing in the right relationships in your life will bring an abundance of joy and fulfillment.
Focusing on others, gets out eyes off of our own problems and reminds us of the bigger picture.

Try implementing these 3 simple tips for a week and see the difference it can make!
