Faith is not just wishful thinking. Faith is not passive. It doesn’t sit back and just wish for things to change.

Faith is what gives us the courage to believe for the impossible to happen in our lives. It means to look straight in the eyes of the thing that’s bringing us fear and walk towards it with full faith knowing we will come out stronger on the other side. It’s the anchor we hold onto when life seems to be going in a direction we never expected. It’s what keeps us going when jobs change, relationships fall apart, and our organizations aren’t operating the way we planned. Because let’s be honest, life never goes the way we planned.

Faith doesn’t back down when things get hard and lose all hope. It rises above. Sometimes we fear operating out of faith because we’re afraid of getting our hopes let down. But faith is completely trusting that God is in control and we are not. It’s letting go of our need to know all of the details and trusting he has already gone before us and worked them all out. Every battle, every unknown, every pressing situation in our lives, God has already worked it out. We can trust him and we can live a life of faith because of who He is and the promises He’s already given to us in His Word.

What does it look like for you to practically live out faith in your life? And in what areas have you been lacking faith? We cannot run a successful organization, or lead our families and relationships without faith. We also cannot please God without faith. It’s the foundation of our lives. So this week, let’s choose to overcome our fears by faith.

“And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6
