I read a lot of books on leadership and personal development. The genre is extensive and constantly growing. The quality of work being published is very good, but not always varied in topic or approach. So when I find a book that is a game changer, I just have to share it with you all. The First 90 Days by Michael D. Watkins is one of those game changing books. The idea behind this book, as the title suggests, is that the first 90 days that you spend in a new position or a new job will set the tone and determine your success for the rest of your time in that role. The way you lead yourself and your team in those first 3 months is an indicator of what is to come; in those 90 days you need to build relationships, establish credibility, and learn as much as you can. The first 3 months are critical. This book is a guideline, a success map to handling this initial period of time with success. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you are currently in transition or you think a transition could be possible at any point in the future. This book will help you to avoid the damaging mistakes and time consuming mishaps that are common in the midst of transitions. The First 90 Days will equip and enable you to position yourself for success. I believe that professional transitions are some of the greatest growth opportunities we will ever have. We become stronger, better, and sharper when we are able to move through transitions with grace and excellence. This book will help you to do just that. Grab a copy of The First 90 Days by Michael D.
